. >> this is the bay area's news station. kron 4 news starts now. >> new at 11:00, san francisco police released video of a shooting that happened april 10. patrons leaving yoshi's club that night might know something. the victim was at the intersection of hayes and webster when he was shot and killed. alicia reed shows us the video of a white 2010 lexus 350 the police are hunting for. >> reporter: this is surveillance video from just before gunfire erupts. a few seconds later, the

suspect's car speeds by! it was a 2010-2012 lexus. >> reporter: cameras from cab also spotted the shooting from the intersection. >> we walked up to the driver's side of the vehicle and conversed with a driver or passenger on the rear side. and shot him. and he walked back to if sidewalk where he started from and collapsed right there. >> reporter: sergeant john bart is trying to find a motive for the slaying. but for now, cannot come up with an answer. >> jay was never arrested before. he was not involved in the criminal lifestyle. i interviewed a lot of people that knew him. friends, girlfriend. family members. and, there's no reason that stands out why anyone would want to kill this man. >> reporter: police do not believe jay knew the person that shot him. they are hoping someone will recognize the car in the

surveillance video and help lead them to the person responsible. in san francisco, alicia reed, kron 4 news. new at 11:00 o'clock, a bay area coach pleaded not guilty to four felony counts. this is video of kaufman after he posted bail back in march. he has coached baseball at several schools including palo alto tie. he turned himself into authorities in march after learning the district attorney's office filed the charges against him. he was released that same day after posting bail. the bay area days away from learning more about the bay bridge bolts that broke. last month, you will remember, 32 bolts snapped when they were

tightened. j. r. stone is following the story. >> reporter: these bolts t is just what they look like on the end. just to give you an idea, the big challenge here, i'm six foot five and this pole is nine feet long. that's how long the bay bridge bolts are. and they can go up to 17 feet. so this would be one of the small rods. now in total, there are 288 anchor rods located on the eastern span of the bay bridge. 96 of these rods were tightened. shortly after that, they were inspected and 32 of those 96 were broken. the cause seem to be hydrogen that slipped into the steel rods. the concern is the safety of the bridge that is supposed to be safe in earthquake conditions. there is hope this will be finish by labor day weekend. j. r. stone, kron 4 news.

breaking news, bart has closed the 12th street station in oakland. a shooting happened. officials have evacuated the station. they believe the suspects may have run into that bart location. trains are not stopping at the 12th street station at this hour. also new at 11:00. santa clara authorities are looking for suspects. this is video of one that attempted to rob a victim in front of a 7/11 in san jose. police say the man wearing the hooded sweatshirt approached the victim and demanded money. the suspect is described as a hispanic male, approximately 28 years old seen with another man inside the 7/11 store. the fire district says it may need to close down two

additional fire stations in order to balance the district's budget. this comes just three months after four over stations were shut down to cut costs. charles clifford reports. >> reporter: the fire protection district closed down fire stations in lafayette, walnut creek, clayton, and martinez. now the district says they need to close two more stations in order to balance the 2013-2014 budget. they say because of shrinking tax revenues, the district was left no choice but to make cuts. the closing of the four fire stations will save the district between six and eight million dollars next year, but residents will see reduced services and slower response times. now the district says they have to make more cut. they will close another station in july and another next january. but they don't know which

stations will close. the district's board of directors will meet may 7 to discuss the issue. in the news room, charles clifford, kron 4 news. a piece of legislation called the homeless bill of rights allows any homeless person to move freely and allows the homeless to rest, sleep, or live in a motor vehicle if it is legally parked. it will allow them to collect recycle bls adds a mean of employment. >> just being homeless is not criminal. there are behaviors that are criminal that homeless people do as well as people who are not homeless. we are looking more for solutions that are not punitive, but reha billtive. >> cities would have to have hygiene centers.

>> one of the highest ranked high schools in the state of california is right here in the bay area, but it is slated to soon close. oakland's american indian public charter school is in danger of being shut down due to poor management. there is a list of financial violations against the school. >> we want the public to know we have complied. we do have a new management

>> we continue to follow developments in the boston terror attacks. federal authorities say it appears that neither of the suspects had links to terror group, but tamerlan tsarnaev often looked at extremist websites. his brother, dzhokhar tsarnaev remains in the hospital tonight. his condition is upgraded from serious to fair. now other areas of boston are opening now. shelby lynn reports. >> reporter: police never let up their desire to catch the suspects of the bombings. they detailed the harrowing hours of the capture of dzhokhar tsarnaev in a suburban

conscious and communicating by nodding. homeland security secretary answered questions about that trip during an immigration reform hearing. >> by the time he returned, all investigations had been, the matter had been closed. >> reporter: a federal law enforcement official says tamerlan tsarnaev was not on a federal list when he traveled to russia. i'm shelby lynn reporting. continuing the investigation in the ricin investigation when the president and others were threatened. curtis is the man the fbi had targeted, but no evidence of ricin was found. so authorities are now focusing on a man named jay everett dusky. tonight, the fbi is investigating what is being

called the tweet heard around the world. arguably, the world's most reputable outlet, the associated press add their twitter account hacked. the fake tweet said explosions in the white house and barack obama is injured. that tweet went out this morning and sent shock waves through much of the country. minutes later, the associated press sent out a statement saying the tweet was fake and a group called the syrian electronic army took credit for the hack attack. at the time of the deadly attack. officials say the enclosures were working properly at the animal park where the lion killed an intern. investigators looked at the cages at the cat haven east of fresno and that cat sanctuary did not violate any animal welfare act policies.

a lion killed diana hanson. she was cleaning the cage when he escaped and attacked her. deafties killed the animal. cooler weather continues tomorrow. more fog expected around the bay area. temperatures dropping into the 70s through much of the bay area tomorrow and 60s and 70s thursday and friday. a look outside. you can see the fog, here along the coastline. it is moving into the north bay near santa rosa. so we will be dealing with fog in the bay shores and the north bay. temperatures remaining in the 50s through the morning hours and getting into the 60s and 70s by the noon hour with the exception of the coastline where it will stay in the 50s . at 2:00. we will be in the 70s . closer to the coast, cooler because of the fog. temperatures running in the 70s
